The accounting firm of Stanley G. Boatwright, PC is committed to continuing professional education. The firm's principal and associate CPAs annually obtain at least 40 hours of continuing professional education (CPE).
The firm is also enrolled in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Peer Review Program. The AICPA requires all members engaged in public accounting in the United States to be proprietors or employees of firms enrolled in an AICPA-approved peer review program.
Firms enrolled in the Peer Review Program are required to undergo a review by an independent evaluator. The review monitors a CPA firm’s accounting practice. More specifically, the peer review is an appraisal of a firm’s actual accounting work (individually called engagements). The evaluator reviews accounting reports, supporting documentation, and other procedures.
The AICPA requires reviews every three years. Our most recent review was completed in September 2009 and resulted in an unqualified opinion of pass being issued. Pass is the highest possible rating, followed by pass with deficiencies and fail. A pass rating means the evaluator found nothing in the firm’s work that was not performed in conformity with all applicable professional standards. Our six prior reviews all culminated in unqualified opinions as well.
